Aisle Types
Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are classed due to the types of aisles they have been designed to work in. These machines could turn in an aisle, whilst Very Narrow Aisle trucks actually don't turn within the aisle. There are some aisle widths to take into account with different models.
VNA or Very Narrow Aisle trucks operate in less than 6 feet places and normally utilize certain guidance systems like rail, wire or optical systems in order to travel within the aisles. Several various models of VNA trucks comprise Turret Trucks, Swing Masts and Order Selectors. These are popular models in tight retail spaces and in some warehouse and storage situations.
Narrow Aisle trucks could work within aisles from 8 feet to 10 feet wide. Generally these are stand-up models like Reach Trucks. They are often used in warehouses and storage facilities.
Wide Aisle Standard forklifts fall into this truck category and are designed to work in aisles that are more than 11 feet wide.
