A kind of machine in the material handling industry that could be utilized to raise and transport loads from one place to another is called a forklift. Each and every forklift part has a particular function. Various components could be used to transport the load either vertically or horizontally.
Mast
The forklift mast refers to all the parts that lower and lift the load. There are various types of masts utilized for raising loads to different heights: triplex, quad, simplex and duplex.
Power Supply
There are four different ways you could power a forklift: gas, electric, diesel and propane. The battery is located within the cab beneath the seat. The propane tank is on the rear of the truck. The fuel tank on gas and diesel forklifts is beneath the rear of the truck.
Cab
The forklift cab is positioned in the center of the truck. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the controls and informational gauges. The gas pedal, steering wheel, tilting controls, brake and lifting controls are all located inside the cab.
Frame
The frame of the truck carries all the largest parts of the forklift, including the counterweights, which are situated at the back to stop the truck from tipping when loaded. The frame consists of the overhead guard that protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the axles, wheels and driveshaft.
