Forklift tires have also evolved into specialized tires, with different kinds designed to suit specific functions.
Cushion (Solid) Tires
A cushion tire is constructed of rubber or solid polyurethane and is suitable for indoor applications on smooth surfaces. The cushion tire tread is bonded or pressed onto the steel ring of the tire. Cushion tires are rated ease of steering and for various load capacities. Cushion tires are normally used within warehouse settings.
Pneumatic Tires
Pneumatic forklift tires are filled with air or foam. They come in two types: radial or bias. Depending on the use, they are offered with various sidewall protection, tread depths and weight. Pneumatic forklift tires which are filled with foam maintain constant pressures and are less susceptible to punctures. Pneumatic tires are usually utilized outdoors on surfaces which are rough and uneven.
Pneumatic Shaped Solid/Solid Pneumatic
Solid Pneumatic Hybrid tires combine the comfortable ride of a pneumatic tire with the puncture resistance of a solid tire. They are a good option to the outdoor pneumatic tire.
Large Rubber and Flotation Tires
Utilized on wheel loader forklifts are big rubber tires that can either be pneumatic, solid or foam. These types of tires are suitable for loading and moving heavy things onto trucks or into processing equipment. Big flotation pneumatic tires are best for masted rough terrain forklifts usually utilized at lumberyards, construction sites and auto recyclers.
